Anti-Bullying Campaign As part of our Anti-Bullying Campaign taking place at St Martin’s College, a number of activities have been organised to create awareness. Today Middle School students were encouraged to use anti-bullying slogans as their backdrop on Teams during their online lessons. All students were also encouraged to wear something orange to show their support against bullying.

Sixth Form Outdoor Activity

Sixth Form Outdoor Activity Over the midterm holidays, a group of Sixth Form students and their teachers, took a welcome break from their lessons and spent some refreshing time outdoors. This was done in a very responsible manner while strictly adhering to mandatory standards issued by the health authorities. Students walked to Lippija Tower and Gnejna and remained in the same small group throughout the morning. This activity was organized to encourage students to put down their phones and reduce screen time, as well as to responsibly interact with friends while resetting the rhythms of their daily lives.

NACE

NACE Ms Barbara Firth, the National Association for Able Children in Education, U.K. (NACE) consultant for St Martin's College, visited the school virtually and assessed the progress being made. Her focus was on the work being done by the school to assist Higher Achievers in reaching their potential. Her report was very encouraging, identifying our many areas of growth and highlighting our on-going improvements. These improvements are fast becoming a whole school approach to teaching and learning, which will benefit all students, not only Higher Achievers. It is also a ray of hope in these difficult times. We are energized by the impact it is having on our learners and how it continues to fuel our resolve to extend our variety of teaching and learning strategies to suit current needs.

The webinars titled ‘In Transition & Transformation - Teaching One Class in Two Learning Spaces’ give an overview of the strategies being used by class teachers to ensure that quality teaching is equally distributed and that teaching and learning remains effective and efficient.

Pen Pal Programme

Pen Pal Programme For the 4th consecutive year, Chiswick House School will be collaborating with a school in Orlova, Czech Republic to continue our exciting pen pal programme. Czech students in years 5 to 8, who have been learning English since year 3, will be writing to a group of our Level 4 pupils while a number of our Level 5 and Level 6 pupils will continue writing to their pen pals. This is a great opportunity for our learners to practise their letter writing skills, handwriting or typing skills, learn about a new culture, make friends and be creative.
